Red Oak Trinket Box #1 ~ This was created for a very good friend of ours ~ The sand shaded white rose, of holy and sycamore with dyed green leaves are set into a Walnut Burl. It sports a two strip Mahogany-Holy band and an outer border of matching Red Oak veneer. The inside top and bottom have a beige felt fitted insert. Fitted later was a 1/8" diameter earth magnet acting as a 'lock'. |

Box #2 has a single Holy band with an outer border of Sarari Veneer.
This is one of the Latin American Veneers.
The sand shaded white rose(s), of holy and sycamore with dyed green leaves are set into a Walnut Burl. The inside top and bottom have a dark brown felt fitted insert. Although created for a friend, a mistake in my vacuum pressing the top now classifies this as a reject. (we'll keep it). The miters on the holy and red oak corners are terrible. :-) It has 5 coats of sanding sealer sanded to 1500 grit and 2 coats of wipe-on polyurethane gloss varnish. It was finished with a polish using Renaissance Wax. |
