Bobonong is a town in the Central District of Botswana 80 km from Selibe Phikwe town. Bobonong has a population of around 19,000. The Babirwa tribe can be found in this town. The Botswana Pink semi-precious stones can be found in Bobonong region. Bobonong has a Senior Secondary School (Matshekge Hill School) which is a catchment for Junior Secondary Schools in the Bobirwa Sub District.
It has government offices including a Magistrates office, a primary hospital, police station, post office, library and a small town center. It also has a large shopping complex, which include big retail stores such as Choppies Supermarket.
It is a semi town with both traditional and modern housing structures with a reliable electricity supply as well as the standard ICT services including both land line and cellular services.

This piece measures 13-1/2 (34.3 cm) x 8-3/8" (21.3 cm) and was pressed onto a piece of MDF board, and backed by a single piece of Maple veneer. It was sanded with 120 grid then 5 coats of sanding sealer were applied. Between each application the surface was wet and dry sanded with 600 grid using a flat steel block. It was finished with 3 coats of wipe on Gloss polyurethane varnish, 1 coat of satin polyurethane varnish and finally polished with Renaissance wax. It is all Scalpel cut.
This piece is not for sale. I was commissioned to cut this for a guy who's daughter was in the US Peace Corps. in Botswana. If you are interested in my doing a piece for you email me and tell me what subject you want or send a photo. I'll then let you know if I will/can do it and price.
